Handmade One of a Kind Fabric Creations

One of a kind fashions and accessories lovingly created in a zero waste studio by a queer non-binary autist for a better more sustainable future.

  • All pieces made by me are one and done, rarely will I offer the same item in the same fabric.

  • Every scrap of thread and fabric is saved for later use or for filling pillows and Derpy Dinos. Even the packaging from notions I try to save for collage art or some other use.

  • After years of putting aside art in favor of "a job", I burned out in 2018 and have been trying to make it as a starving artist ever since. I couldn't be happier.

From Barbie Clothes to Haute Couture

How long have you been sewing?

I started making clothing for my Barbies in the mid 1980s with my mom, from scraps leftover from her sewing projects. In total I have 30+ years sewing experience.

Where do you source your supplies?

Everything I use in the creation process is industry cast off, left overs or vintage items thrifted.

Why zero waste?

The way the garment industry functions is very wasteful. Original designs aim to have little to no scraps, reproductions will have unconventional placement to use as much fabric as possible.

What is cast off?

Cast off is the odd shaped left over fabric that cannot be used due to the grain of the fabric or size or whatever.

What do you do with the scraps?

All fabric is kept, no matter how small. Something might need a little patch, or can fill a cushion. My favorite use is to take a little ball of scraps as the heart of each Derpy Dino, their “Trash Soul”.

Trash soul?

Yeah, like the rest of us? The garment industry is very wasteful and cruel, through out the creation process every little bit is saved for use in another creation.
