Why isn't sign language the norm?
For so long, sign language was infantilized and deemed inferior, leading to its global ban due to oralism and misconceptions about Deaf culture. In this century, we’re reclaiming the respect it deserves. TDZ’s zines explore this history and advocates alternative communication methods to make up for the historical oppression of being left out.
-
Want to learn sign language but feel overwhelmed by the complexity and history?
The subconscious resistance to sign language comes from outdated beliefs and historical biases. It’s time to move past these barriers. TDZ’s zines offer the tools and guidance you need to start your ASL journey with confidence. Anyone can sign.
-
Looking for ways to communicate with Deaf/HoH or those with selective mutism, voice loss, or other communication needs?
Opt for alternative communication! If sign language isn’t doable, use notepad, phone apps, or any method that works while learning sign language. TDZ’s zines provide practical tips and guidance for various communication needs!

Want to make a real difference in accessibility?
Accessibility goes beyond ramps and captions. Figure out what your disabled friends’ communication needs. Turn the closed captions on. Create a more inclusive world by understanding and advocating each other. Awareness and actions goes a long way.
